User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Decent phone.
A decent enough phone. Caller ID works fine, phone sound quality is good. It goes through batteries faster than I would like. I just dropped it and broke it, and am buying another.

4 Stars GREAT LANDLINE
This is a great phone, but I ordered it twice in white and received black phones. Okay with me because it matched, but it may not make others happy.

1 Star Not up to Motorola standards
Having owned a Motorola Corded Base/Cordless Handset phone system in the past I did not hesitate to purchase this system when the old one needed to be replaced. What a major disappointment! The speakerphone, which we use 98% of the time, was no where near Motorola standards. The voice quality was inferior and the volume level was inadequate. It sounded like a AM station on an old tube type radio. The speakerphone volume was so low it was necessary to hold the phone next to my ear, which defeats the whole purpose of having a speakerphone. This is going back tomorrow.

5 Stars WOW
This phone is AWESOME! The voice clarity is the best in a phone I have ever had! I love the different ringers available, not to mention that the pre-set answering machine message is a womans voice! LOVE this!

4 Stars Bought this phone and like it very much
I bought this phone recently and returned the panasonic set. This phone looks great with easy set up. Sound quality is very good when using speaker phone – this is mainly what I was looking for. Keypad could have been designed better but it does not bother me too much.

Highly recommend it for the price.

5 Stars this is awesome!
This phone is cool. u can add contact into the phone scroll down to the name pick-up the phone or hit speaker and automatically calls.

another feature on there is the base locator its on the main menu left key and your talking to the other person who has the other phone. i think it would be a great bussnes thing. or if u have a bg family. u can buy up to a certian amount of extra phones. you get the idea.

4 Stars 2 stylish phones with handy intercom, speakerphone
I bought model L402V of this phone Dec 2009 from Sam’s Club, for about $50. There are two phones: one a corded base with an answering machine, the other a cordless phone with charger. The packaging had an earth-friendly “green” notice, which I found appealing. The buttons on both phones are comfortable and easy to press.

I did have trouble changing the base to wall mount. The “quick start” guide omitted this issue, and the extended manual contains such tiny images that I had difficulty reading it. When I tried to reverse the clip that holds the phone on a wall-mounted base, it came loose and shot across the room. Luckily, I retrieved it before the cat got it.

Discouragingly, once wall mounted, the phone hangs crooked when the receiver is hung up. I fixed that problem by putting sticky tack behind it (the stretchy stuff you use to hang up posters). Although the manual said it would have to be charged for 24 hours before first use, the cordless phone had enough charge in the battery to try it out.

The phones are slim, stylish, and mainly intuitive to use. One not very intuitive feature is that in order to make a call from the base, you have to press the “speaker” button. With the exception of the intercom feature, they mostly work as if they are separate phones, and their differences can be confusing.

The cordless phone has great audio transmission without static or interference, even in distant parts of the house. We’ve had trouble inside our house with previous phones. I like that each entry in the phone book can be customized with one of ten ringtones, some of which are really cute. The ringtones apply separately to each phone, so the phones will ring at the same time, using separate melodies.

A disadvantage is that it’s hard to see the location of the tiny microphone on the base, and you have to speak very close to the phone when recording a memo or the outgoing message. For this reason, the audio quality of the memos and outgoing messages can be poor. However, the audio quality of the actual phone conversations is very good, and the volume is easy to adjust.

The two separate phonebooks are also a bit annoying. There doesn’t seem to be a way to link phonebooks so that each time you save a number it appears in the both the base and the cordless phone. 30 numbers can be saved on each phone. Confusingly, the base will not save an incoming caller’s number if it’s not in the phonebook, but the cordless will do so.

The font size on the LCD screen of the base makes it easy to see the numbers and names. The base lights up only when active, which (I hope) saves energy. The speakerphone and mute features work well. For those who don’t mind figuring out the quirks, this phone combination is a good purchase.

    4 Stars Good quality
The corded phone could not be mounted on the wall. Wish I knew that, otherwise the phone is great.

3 Stars Uniden 2 line phone system – refurbished
The base station will no longer register additional handsets. I have not yet contacted the seller.

1 Star Not My Lucky Day
Received phone in fine condition and was anxious to set it up but ran into problems during testing, encountering two issues that I could not resolve. First, I set the answering machine to “on” but it seemed to automatically turn off whenever a call came in. Very strange. Tried it several times but no success. Second, the incoming Caller ID number would only seem to appear for a couple of seconds and then it just said “Incoming Call.” I need a phone that displays the incoming ID during the entire time the phone is ringing. Also, the general layout of the phone and button labels (or symbols) were screwy in my opinion. I tried calling customer support thinking I might get lucky (Uniden is notorious for terrible customer service) and held the line for 55 minutes before hanging up. Returned the phone the same day. My colleague has the ATT E2562 which I think I’ll try next, but not at Amazon’s full price of $300. I think you can pick it up here from a 3rd party for $185.

    5 Stars Great Phone!
Been Using this phone and the additional handset for about a month now and have had no problems whatsoever! Great phone and was just was we needed!

5 Stars Great Small Office Phone!
We ordered this phone for our small business. I hooked it up and began using it immediately. I think it is very intuitive and easy to use. The features are great, and it works flawlessly. I love it!

    5 Stars ideal
This phone was used on a yacht were the old Toshiba wired system had failed. Not only did it make a good replacement but it excelled compared to the old Toshiba wired phones. Some guests found it a little difficult to use.

    5 Stars Love these phones!
I previously had the Panasonic set with 4 handsets and it was perfect. Had it for 2 years – no problems. However I needed 6 handsets, so I purchased one that had 5 and was expandable to 6 (I bought the 6th handset). Now I can go all over my house – wireless and the speakers on all the handsets (in addition to the base unit) work great. It would be nice if they last forever.

1 Star Not stand alone. Requires you own certain other phones
I must send this unit back. Amazon fails to state the first statement in the installation manual: “This unit is an additional handset compatible with the following series……… You must register this handset with your base unit before it can be used.” In other words, you can’t plug this phone into the wire you get from the phone company.

1 Star Very poor sound quality
I would not recommend this model. The telephone sound qualiy is very poor, even when the telephones are very close to the base station. I have used Panasonic Dect models in the past and have not experienced this issue.

    5 Stars extra hand set
i needed to add another hand set to my system, this was a great choice and the seller delivered on time
