Replacement for older panasonic cordless. Reliable product, which has plenty of features. Easy to set up, not as intuitive to operate, however a few minutes reading intructions, set up of voice mail, directory was made very easy.

4 Stars A very nice phone…
I have had no problems with this phone. The sound quality is fine. I have the base on the second floor and I can use the phone in the yard or in the basement. You should note that the construction of the phone may lead to some problems depending on the dexterity of the user. To use the menu, you often have to push the main button, which is more like a joystick. If it is not pushed correctly, you may make an unintended selection. If the phone is used by those, who are not particularly steady (e.g. those with tremors), you may want to consider another model. Features that I like include flashing when there is a voice mail message, lighting up when it rings (particularly at night), and the number missed calls are indicated on the main screen. It has an answering machine but if you use voice mail, it may not be useful.

3 Stars Great Style, Weak Reception
I bought this phone set to replace my previous 2.4GHz Panasonic Cordless / Answering Machine set. The old set lasted a solid five years, which is the longest I have ever had one last out here in rural Arizona. It just isn’t worth trying to replace a base unit plus a bunch of old batteries when you can buy a whole set for less money.

I like a lot of things about this new set. The display is much easier to read, and I really like the feel of the handsets. The button layout is simplified, and functions well. The battery life appears to be longer. My WiFi performance is a little stronger now that we do not have another system sharing the same frequency range (although the old systems did not directly interfere with each other). I like the fact that the speed dial directory no longer has to be copied to each handset.

I have one primary complaint with the new system, and that is its reception range. I live in a remote area, and it was really great when the Gigarange series first came out for us. We were finally able to keep a phone in the shop and down at the corrals without the need to trench and run phone wires there. The corrals are about 60 feet from the base unit, while the shop is closer to 150 feet. When I set up the new system, I put all the phones in the same spots as the old ones. I cannot reliably obtain a signal in the shop. I guess having to go through the second set of walls is too much for this new system. Panasonic makes a booster unit for similar products sold in England, but it will not work with the North American version because the frequencies are a little different.

The range issue would not be that big of a deal if you were going to use your phones inside the home, or maybe out on the porch or during a walk to the end of the driveway to get the mail. If you are planning to use it in a farm or ranch application, though, you’re going to run out of signal strength in your outbuildings.

I had a set of panasonic phones (3) before. Had them for years and they served me well. One finally got a flaw and may just have needed a new battery. When I saw this great deal on a set of new ones and more of them in the set, I had to have them. It is great to have one handy all the time no matter where in the house I am.

The sound is great, they are lighter than the old ones. I am very happy with the new set. Would buy them again!!

5 Stars Just plain works great
We have had cordless phones since they first came out way back in the stone ages, like when they had 2 foot antennas on them. Each new one we purchased had new features that were nice, but I could always find room for improvement. I figured it would be the same with the Panasonic Dect 6.0. The set could take one more phone which I bought at the same time – it should have been a complete set. Outside of this issue, I can find no fault with the package. It is easy to set up, store numbers and use. That is it. Sounds great on both ends. Can’t think of a thing I would change. For once I feel I got my money’s worth.

I like this multi-handset phone system as I am a disabled vet and these phones are placeable in many rooms in my large two-story home. My only regret is that one has to go through several steps to reach someone on the intercom, which my old Panasonic system didn’t require. As well if you dial a particular intercom and the person is in a room with a different intercom number, they cannot just answer it. Specifically, one has to dial the exact intercom number for each phone, instead of the connection being universal. Otherwise, this set is a smart buy with an attractive look, good sound quality, and a minimum of set-up. I would definitely recommend this set for purchase.
