3 Stars Poor Sound quality
I work from home so I was looking for a headset that was both comfortable and had some good sound quality. This unit ranks ok for comfort but the sound quality is marginal at best. People that I am talking to sound distant and some voices are slightly muffled. Next time I will spend more money on a higher quality product.

Plantronics M214C Headset with Adjustable Volume

This headset works very well. The price was outrageously low. My product arrived brand-new, in a sealed box. I ordered it online one day, and the product arrived two days later. I love this product, and would recommend it to anyone who needs to be handsfree on the phone at home or at the office. It plugs right into the side of my cordless home phone.

1 Star I would never buy this product again
The sound quality for the other end is terrible, so I cannot use this anymore. Every time I use the headset I get a complaint from the person on the other end that they cannot hear me.

4 Stars Not all headsets are created equal
I have tried several 2.5mm jack headsets with several phones both cellular and cordless land-line. Some headsets work better with some phones. I am using the Plantronics M210C with an AT&T cordless land-line SL82318, and it works well. By that I mean I can hear the person on the phone well (clear and reasonably loud) and they can hear me very well (loud and clear). Also, the Plantronics M210C is comfortable to wear. Another reviewer stated that model M214C works well with AT&T phones, and so I tried this model. I also tried an AT&T EH500 headset with this phone. I could not hear well enough, and I could barely be heard. AT&T says that all of their headsets work with all of their phones. I do not consider this inferior volume level as working, and I told them so when I returned the EH500 headset.

Price was the motivator on this purchase. The last time I replaced a battery on my phone system it was $19.95 for one battery at a popular consumer electronics retailer. I purchased two batteries with shipping for under $18 through Amazon. I can’t evaluate battery life as I’ve only had them for a month but at this price if they last 18 months (and I hope for 24-30 months) it was a good purchase. They hold a charge well and have good talk time.
