4 Stars Dewalt 14.4 volt battery
The price for these batteries was very reasonable compared to the full price. I would recommend these to anyone needing new 14.4 volt Dewalt batteries.

These XRP batteries are a lot better than the original battery if your drill was made after about 1999. My original batteries only lasted about 3-4 years on my new drill (purchased 2004). I have a Dewalt 14.4V I bought in 1994 and still use the original batteries. One word of caution, the XRP batteries will not fit in the older drill case whether on or off the drill because they are larger. The older case has a more molded appearance on the inside and is double wall plastic.
5 Stars DeWalt 14.4v NiCad replacement battery
I was disappointed in the DeWalt 14.4 volt batteries that came with my drill/driver. When one totally died during a project I sent my wife out to get a replacement battery. She returned with a NiCad version which I loved. It holds a charge extremely well and lasts much, much longer between charges. I was so impressed that I got a second one and recycled my remaining (operable) original battery. It makes using the drill much more practicle.
5 Stars DeWalt Battery
There’s not much to say it’s a battery, but so far it seems to be working great
5 Stars Great power, high output
Bought a set of DeWalt tools, which included two XRP 14.4v batteries and a charger over four years ago. I didn’t really use the set much until the last two years, when I suddenly had a couple of backyard projects. These batteries pack quite a charge, and provides plenty of power and duration, especially for the reciprocating saw and trim saw. Unfortunately, last weekend one of the batteries died out and wouldn’t take a charge anymore (it’s been on the wane for a couple months before that). I’m hoping the other one will continue to work, but now I’m stuck with only one working battery. I came nowhere near the advertised 1,200 charge/discharge cycles, so that was disappointing.
I’ve had these units for more than four years, so I can’t complain about one dying. While I agree that these batteries are excellent, and should be priced accordingly, I’m not sure they need to be quite that expensive. There are companies that’ll rebuild the battery pack, typically with longer-lasting sub-C cells, for less than the cost of a new one (but admittedly not by much). Based on trade reviews, the rebuilds either meet or exceed specifications, and I’m leaning that way not so much for the cost savings, but for the extended runtime.
So, in summary, these are absolutely great batteries. The NiCad technology is proven, dependable, and is suited well for high drain devices such as power tools. However, given the relative cost and simplicity of manufacturing a unit, you should be able to get more performance for less from a reputable battery rebuilder.
EDIT (12/04/2009): Bought a DeWalt DC9310 charger DeWalt DC9310 Heavy-Duty 7.2 Volt – 18 Volt 1 Hour Charger to replace DC9116 charger. The DC9310 was able to charge the dead DC9091 to ~12 volts consistently, indicating two dead cells. Battery is now usable again, but at 12 volts. While not ideal, it was good enough for me to effectively operate all the tools, thus extending the life of the battery.

I love Amazon.

DeWALT DC9091-2 14.4v 14.4 Volt XRP Battery 2 Pack NEW
I was pleased that I received this product very quickly; however, it is too early to tell how well the batteries will hold up. I have had poor results as far as total battery life with these XRP batteries in the past.
4 Stars Frugal working stiff
This battery works well and are a good price. Come on, we all know what the dewalt batteries are. What more need be said?

Great Buy !! Hopefully I’ll get another 18 years out of these Dewalt replacement batteries.
DeWalt DC9310 Heavy Duty 7 2 Volt 18 Volt 1 Hour Charger

Minimize down-time with this fast and efficient charger from DEWALT. The DC9310 charges every DEWALT 7.2-volt to 18-volt NiCd, NiMH, or Li-Ion battery (with the exception of UniVolt batteries) in about one hour. A helpful LED indicator tells you the charging status (charged, charging, power line problem, replace pack, and battery too hot or too cold), as a three-stage charging system does its work.

5 Stars Much better than stock charger (DC9116), great bargain
A few years ago I bought a DeWalt four piece combo set, which came with two 14.4v NiCad batteries (DC9091) and stock charger DC9116. About a couple of weeks ago, one of the batteries wouldn’t take a charge any more. I was searching for alternatives to shelling out $75 for a new battery, and had pretty much decided to send the dead unit in for a rebuild, replacing the cells with higher capacity cells (possibly NiMh cells).
I then stumbled upon reviews for this charger, and read where some owners had been able to revitalize their batteries with this unit, so I gave it a shot. If it didn’t work, I can always use it as an extra charger, and it’ll handle NiMh packs too. To make a long story short, the DC9310 was actually able to charge my dead DC9091. A test with a voltmeter showed that it charged to approximately 12 volts, indicating there were probably two dead cells inside the unit, but the battery was now usable again (albeit with less voltage). This charger was able to extend the life of the battery pack (so far) when it couldn’t even be charged by the original charger.
Highly recommended, as it outperforms the DC9116 but costs about the same and is so much more versatile.
Other notes: Priced dropped $10 since I purchased it, making it an even better bargain. Exact same unit goes for about $79 at my local Sears.
4 Stars Why Dewalt products are so bulky?
I purchased this item because I want to make custom battery for my DC750KA, with NiMH cells, so I needed a dewalt charger which can do NiMH as well as NiCD.
First of all, on the picture you see unit in blister pack, my unit arrived in label-less carton pack, only label was “Ready to Ship”.
2nd, I can’t understand, why this unit is so huge in size? I opened it, and inside components are placed in very relaxed way – overal volume of charger body can be reduced by 40% at least if desired. If you plan to disassemble this unit (what I don’t recomend at all), take care of fact, that it is assembled using Security Torx screws, and it has 2nd PCB, welded to main one via very short leads, so when you open the case, most likely you’ll crack the PCB.
Otherwise, this is good product, charges my batteries really fast, what I’d like to see is the audio alarm for charge completion – as in more expensive models.
1 Star Dewalt dc9310 Charger
This charger was listed as new, with a good price, but when it arrived, it was just a charger, unpackaged and wrapped in newspaper; no instructions, no warranty information, etc. I tried to locate online the company that sent it, to get a phone number to call about the order. The only information on their website was for a location in China, with no contact information in the USA. I called Amazon, and they did not have a phone number for the company either; Amazon did give me a link to send them an email about the order and I was able to send it back and get a refund. This was not a good experience. If someone had experience with the charger (I didn’t) they might be pleased with this kind of delivery because of the price??
5 Stars works great
i purchased this to replace the charger that went bad to my 12v firestorm…works great…
5 Stars Happy Husband-Happy Wife
My husband works out of town installing commercial windows. He called me stating his battery charger had been stolen again. A third time! When he came home his plan was to go to one of those large, high-price home improvement stores. (Which, we could not afford to do that, again.) I begged him to let me order this on Amazon.com. He was skeptical. I ordered the DeWalt 18V battery charger from DMD27 on a Saturday. It was not due to be delivered until the upcoming Thursday or the next Tuesday. I am happy to say three days later we received the charger on a Monday morning! A LOT earlier than we were told! My husband was so glad to have this charger when he came home. He has had it for a month now and has no complaints. The charger has worked great for him! Hopefully another does not get stolen, but if it does we know to order from DMD27.

5 Stars Dewalt Battery
The extra charge capacity allows you the need to have a 2nd battery. The charge time isn’t much longer; great purchase.
4 Stars Feels Like New Again
I guess over time you don’t always notice a loss of power or how often you are recharging your batteries. But I could tell a big difference as soon as I started using the replacement XRP battery. I am satisfied with my purchase and it has given new life to my drill.
5 Stars DEWALT DC9071 XRP 12-Volt 2.4 Amp Hour NiCad Battery
Great purchase. Really works well, adding new life to my older Dewalt drill. Probably works better than the original battery.
5 Stars Battery out performs old
this Battery was a replacement for an older Dewalt battery and it really outperformed the old battery. the price is high, but better than at the local Dewalt Store.
5 Stars Perfect replacement
Work great just like the original. I like using 12 volts because if there is ever a diasater, this battery is another wonderful 12 volt source to tap into for my ham radio, light, tv, radio, etc. the two 12volt leads are easy to attach an alligator clip to- they are on the top.
