In this video I demonstrate how to use a Bluetooth phone as a Land Line by hooking the MetroPCS Samsung Code to a vtech DECT 6.0 expandable three handset cordless phone system. I’ll show how to pair the two and how to make a call. This technique allows you to extend the range of your cell phone all over your house/apartment. This is great if you have any dead zones. Vtech DECT 6 0 Black White Accessory Handset with Caller ID and Handset Speakerphone LS6204

DECT 6.0 technology is an available frequency band that provides improved range without needing to boost the power. The sound quality on the DECT models is superior to existing 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz models and enables the user to talk anywhere in their home or office without interference from a wireless network. This proven and reliable technology has been in use for a number of years in Europe and has proven to provide brilliant quality of voice and sound, high protection against eavesdropping and better range than 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz phone systems.Tired of carrying the cordless phone from room to room, or trying to remember where you left it? Add accessory handsets to your expandable system – since accessory handsets work off the signal from the base you can add handsets throughout your house, even in rooms where there are no phone jacks.

4 Stars Vtech 6.0
Product overall has good sound and a lot of features. There are a few that would be nice… Base unit can not play messages, you must pick up the phone in order to listen to messages. The phone in the base unit is considered phone 1 and the base unit is another. It would be nice to customize the phone names, such as Den, Kitchen, etc., but this is not possible. The phones are Phone 1, Phone 2, etc..
1 Star becomes trash if your base dies
Feature wise, this is a nice phone. As a phone, it seems to work well. The bluetooth paring with my iPhone also worked well. It would occasionally not reconnect on its own, but it usually did and the range for bluetooth was quite good. The handsets and base are also amazingly proficient at collecting fingerprints.
A few days in though, the handset that came with the base died. Well, this happens sometimes. I replaced the base and the handset it came with. That part was fairly easy. Now, I suspect most folks looking at this are like me and won’t be using this with just the one handset it comes with. That’s where the fun really comes in. Once a handset is paired to the base, the id of the base is flashed into the handset and can not be changed unless you are using the original base. So, you can’t replace the base and expect your additional handsets to keep working. Per Vtech, this is the way it was designed and they don’t see an issue with it. If the base is in warranty, they will supposedly replace the handsets along with the base. That’s a bit of a hassle. Of course, if it’s out of warranty, you can’t just go grab a new one and expect it to work with your up to $550 in accessory handsets (11 additional are supported).
So the net for me was that the 6245 and all of the 6204 handsets go back. This isn’t really ready for consumers to use.
5 Stars Great deal.
Dear friends,
Amazon is the best for online shopping. This phone is really good and love the touch screen. Thanks Amazon for the best deal.

4 Stars Good Phone
Nice features and good over all. Only draw back is the battery pack is proprietary, basically two AAA batteries wrapped in plastic. so when I need replacement I’ll have to pay 5x the cost of a pair of rechargeable AAA batteries.
2 Stars Not very tech forward
I love the look of the phone. However, here are a few of the issues I came across:
- Flash is not intuitive, if I’m on speaker phone, I cannot do flash from speaker phone button, I have to go to talk button. Still forget, takes time to undo old intuitive habits. Everytime I try to do it, I disconnect the person I’m talking to
- Very touch sensitive. If I lock touch sensitive feature its a pain to unlock for every little thing.
- have not explored the cell phone feature.
I’m sure I’ll have more as I explore more…..
