I just moved into a new apt and have a new and strange phone issue. I have a cordless phone w/ answering machine hooked up to the jack in the kitchen. I had another cordless in the living room. I have a third jack that attaches my computer. Lately when I use the cordless I get this loud really annoying screeching sound, like feedback noise, on and off during the call. I can hear it really loud and people on the other end can hear it but not as loud. I disconnected the other cordless in the living room and put in a regular corded phone that i had lying around and was able to have a regular phone call with no noise. Problem is I dont know if its the phone, something in the wires or is there something that is causing some type of interference. Everything I have in my apt is the same and I never had the issue before but I dont know what the people upstairs might have that could cause it.
Anyone have a suggestion or is there something I can get to fix the issue?
thanks :)

It needs caller ID, and answering machine and two handsets.
The phone only needs a one line connection since one of two is dedicated to credit card validations/Internet connections.
I have always had good luck with Panasonic, but I was wondering if there is any other brands that are as good or better.

I currently have vtech phones .. expensive and great for the first year .. now they lose calls on a regular basis – phone just goes dead – and vtech’s answer is for me to buy a new vtech phone (LOL!) – which they will give me at a special discount which ends up costing more than the local Future Shop!

so … anyone have a brand/model that they have had good, long term, success with?

looking for cordless with answering machine and a 2nd handset

thanks

The domain name of Snap.com, as an information & social networking web site from 1999, is now being used by a contextual content & ad design company. Google it, & you’ll finally know who is responsible for some of those advertising text links imbedded in news stories. In 1998, NBC briefly partnered with Radioshack to create a monthly in-store video promo tape, played in the store’s TV section. It featured NBC network tid-bits, show promos, music videos, & of course Radioshack commercials, to be run in the background over & over & over &…(It wasn’t a half-bad endeavor, though.)

I have been doing much research (looking at reviews) and I am even more confused. I am looking to buy a cordless phone system w/ an answering machine and around 3-4 handsets.
I had/have 2 Uniden brands in the past and had many problems with them so that brand is out.The three brands I am looking at are AT&T, Vtech, and Panasonic.
AT&T is the one I am leaning towards but if anyone had problems with them or better luck with the other brands listed let me know. Thanks for your time.
Anybody have experience with any of these?
